The Feathers Hotel - Ludlow
The Feathers Hotel in Ludlow, dates back to 1619 to the reign of James I and so is a Jacobean building. It was completed in that year by Rees Jones who was a practising attorney who came to Ludlow to pursue his profession at the ‘Council of the Marches.’
The hotel was listed as a Grade 1 building in 1965, and the Feathers is one of 500 listed buildings in the town.
It was converted into an inn in 1670 when Charles II was on the throne. The hotel is well known for its Jacobean furnishings and its inner facade which features the motifs of the Prince of Wales feathers from where the name originates.
